MY CAREER SKETCH
Showcasing the winning product/ UX design solution proposed for the enterprise problem given during the PeopleSoft design jam contest in 2015. This is an enterprise app for employees to track about their career progression and achievements.
THE PROBLEM
There is no single, simple and quick snapshot of an employee's career progression and achievements available in one place in an organisation which can summarize their career highlights too.
Need to propose a design solution for enterprise users/employees for tracking their career progression and achievements which can also summarize their career highlights representing the following easily:-

– Achievements: how the organization has recognized and rewarded them.
– Experience: how far they have come.
– Competence: analyzing their profile.
– Sharing with their network.

MAKE OF THE TEAM
1 product manager and two UX designers including myself
KEY GOAL
Provide an experience where users can track their career progression and highlights and share career details in real time within their network easily.
MY ROLE
I was one of the UX designers involved in finding an innovative design solution for this design problem.
Once the problem statement was given, our team sat down together to discuss it and plan out the design strategy. Keeping in mind about our users, we wanted to give a fresh outlook and provide an easy approach for them to quickly scan and track their career progress and achievements. Hence we chose the mobile first design approach where users can track their information on the go and later we can also span the design across different devices as per need.

Once the mobile design questions were answered, we had now the list of the essential features required for the small screen, so right away we had designed the heart of our UX.

One of the design inspiration we had in mind was as shown above we wanted to give a new outlook to our users than the conventional resumes to showcase their performance.
UNDERSTANDING THE USER
Understanding our users was the key, so we came up with our employee persona.
Since this was a design jam event contest, we took advantage of the time limit. As employees ourselves we interviewed each other and also some of the members in the event to come up with our following employee persona as shown.

DESIGN SOLUTION
Once persona was ready, we did paper sketches to come up with our wireframes. After the user flow was finalized, we eventually converted the wireframes into visual designs.
Time was precious and with only a few hours left to us, we started with our paper sketches.Once the user flow and navigation was finalized, we began the next UX step, to create visual designs.
For the visual designs, we had come up with mood board to agree with color treatment and tone for the application. We agreed on the final colors, font and started creating the final designs.
The following images gives you the preview of the final design solution presented.
Once the employee logs in, he can see the profile summary and can check the menu for other features.

The main landing page has three major sections -
- Achievements (timeline view)
- Experience (graphical view)
- Expertise (supported with graphs)

Following screens show another format of the achievements section and the user flow associated with the achievements section to check his data.
